Current series for Bonato

Yoann Bonato and Benjamin Boulloud continue at a brisk pace! The C3 Rally2 crew has just won its third victory in a row following their successes at “Charbo” and then at the Canaries in the ERC. This second consecutive victory on the Côte d'Azur allows the four-time French champion (2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021) to widen the gap in the championship.

Like all the pilots, Yoann Bonato expected a rally particularly difficult with changing weather and occasional showers determined to spice up the crews' choice of tire equipment when leaving service at the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse (Alpes-Maritimes). Everyone tried to get their own information and it was an opportunity to see a wide variety of tires over the entire two days of racing.

On roads he knows well, Hugo Margaillan confirmed his speed by being the first leader of the rally, like at the “Charbo” a month earlier (April 20-22). Confidently, the winner of the 208 Rally Cup 2021 gave Yoann Bonato, his teammate in CHL Sport Auto, a hard time, but Margaillan had to lose by a handful of seconds on the evening of the first stage.

On Saturday (May 20), like the day before, the tire choices proved difficult and everyone wanted to delay their decision as long as possible.
