Stéphane Sarrazin enjoys Mont-Blanc

The first stage of the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine was dominated by Stéphane Sarrazin who took a little breath after the retirement of Dany Snobeck. Frédéric Comte is now chasing the 307 WRC while Jean-Marie Cuoq completes the provisional podium.

Stéphane Sarrazin enjoys Mont-Blanc

Stéphane Sarrazin achieved most of the scratches on the first stage of Mont-Blanc Morzine even if his rivals are doing everything to keep up with the former rider's pace. Peugeot en Endurance. The driver of the 307 WRC was pursued by Dany Snobeck (Citroën C4 WRC) until the 2008 French champion went off the road in the last special of the first day. Frédéric Comte thus inherits second place and becomes the closest rival to the leader of the event even if he is 17 seconds behind.

Jean-Marie Cuoq struggled to find the right pace with his Focus WRC but the Championship leader completed the provisional podium 12 seconds behind the remaining C4 WRC. The Ford driver is not safe from a return of competitors since he only has a 15-second lead over Julien Maurin's Fiesta WRC. Pierre Roché completes the top five with his Mini Countryman ahead of reigning champion Gilles Nantet (Porsche 997 Cup). Bryan Bouffier leads the Peugeot 207 S2000 peloton with seventh place. Cédric Robert is eighth but only has three seconds ahead of Freddy Loix. Patrick Rouillard completes the top ten with his Porsche 997 GT3.

The second stage of Rally Mont-Blanc Morzine will be contested over six special stages offering a total of 123km timed. The start of the Joux Verte course (22,3km) will be given at 8:12 a.m.
