Sylvain Michel winner at Terre de Langres

Leader last night with 4″7 over Thibault Durbec (Citroën DS3 WRC) after the first stage of Terre de Langres, Sylvain Michel (Skoda Fabia R5) knew that he would have a lot to do this Sunday to counter the attacks of the WRC driver.

From the first Sunday SS, Durbec, who had lost control of the event yesterday evening following a puncture in the final sector of the day, quickly regained the lead by signing the scratch.

A short-lived return to the forefront since in special n°8 of this Terre de Langres, Durbec went out into a field and stalled, losing several seconds. Michel took the opportunity to take the lead again for around ten seconds.

But the turning point of the race will be in the 9th special, where Durbec must retire following an exit. Michel then found himself in the lead with more than a minute ahead of Lionel Baud (Citroën DS3 WRC).

The ranking will no longer change, Michel winning in the end with a margin of 1'16" over Baud and 1'31" over Thomas Baudoin (Citroën C3 R5). At the same time, Baud took control of the championship after this fourth podium in four races.

Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (Peugeot 208 R2) wins the French Two-Wheel Drive Championship and the 208 Rally Cup.
