Like last year, Nicolas Ciamin (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) started the season in the best way by winning the first round of the French Championship. Confident at the wheel of the Polo, Ciamin perfectly mastered the tricky roads of the Touquet hinterland. The VW driver also won the Michelin Premium Trophy.
The Sarrazin Motorsport resident could not have hoped for better preparation before heading to Croatia in a month for WRC2.
Winner of the Coupe de France Final in Béthune, Thomas Chauffray (Fabia Rally2 evo) drove a Rally2 in the French Championship for the first time. The “baptism of fire” went well since the Norman transformed his first appearance at the wheel of a Rally2 with a second place. Enough to give ideas for the future.
After a great fight throughout the day, with gaps of up to a tenth of a second, William Wagner (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) resisted pressure from Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2 CHL Sport Auto) to complete the final podium.
Between surprises and confirmations
Title holder, Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Bonneton HDG) won the two-wheel drive classification ahead of Raphaël Astier (A110 Rally) and Quentin Gilbert (A110 Rally).
Drawing on his experience, Anthony Fotia (208 Rally4-Sarrazin Motorsport) scored maximum points in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup.
Still hotly contested, the Clio Trophy France saw the victory of Valentin Ascenzi (Clio Rally5) after the successive retirements of Arthur Pelamourgues (Clio Rally5) and Patrick Magnou (Clio Rally5).
Freshly created, the GT2i Trophy saw the victory of Ludovic Jeudy at the wheel of his formidable 205 GTi 1.9.
The Michelin Amateur Trophy saw the victory of Styve Juif (Clio Rally4). Third in the Trophy behind Thomas Capelli (208 R2), Mireille Vidueira (Fiesta Rally3) won the women's classification.
