“A cutting-edge driver” at GPC

Ludovic Gal has decided to leave the GPC Motorsport structure after a difficult start to the season at the wheel of the maintained Abarth Grande Punto Super 2000. If the car will remain in the workshop during Rouergue, a “top driver” is expected on board for the rest of the season.

“A cutting-edge driver” at GPC

While the 2009 season continues piecemeal with Patrick Henry at the wheel of the Peugeot 307WRC (current leader of the French Championship), Team GPC Motorsport asserts its ambitions and prepares another move for the second half of the French Championship. Left free by Ludovic Gal preferring a Peugeot 207 Super 2000, the Abarth Grande Punto Super 2000 should soon be lined up for another driver.

“It?s really a shame that Ludo didn?t take up the challenge that we offered him because by benefiting from this 207, he could have fought on equal terms with Jean-Sébastien Vigion and Guillaume Canivencq and thus demonstrated his potential,” comments Georges Guebey. “Was the challenge too great? I do not think so? His late decision did not allow us to field the Punto at Rouergue but it should run again in the next rounds with a top driver in order to prove its competitiveness. To be continued! »

A month ago, GPC Motorsport took over BSA activities to have Peugeot 307WRC and Peugeot 207 Super 2000 alongside Peugeot 206WRC, Abarth Grande Punto Super 2000 and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX Gr.N.
