Var: Latvala remains ahead of Sarrazin

Jari-Matti Latvala remains in the lead ahead of Stéphane Sarrazin, who resisted the Finn's attacks well with his clutch problems. Eric Brunson continues to set his pace against Pierre Roché.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) lined up two new scratch points at the end of the morning of the 2nd stage of the Rally du Var and increased his lead to 13??1 over Stéphane Sarrazin. The Frenchman, however, had a good run since he suffered from clutch problems and even managed to set the best time in the last special of the morning (SS7 de la Môle).

Ott Tänak (Fiesta RS WRC) is struggling to keep up with the pace of the leaders and maintains 3rd place with a 24??7 delay over the Frenchman?s 307 WRC. But the Estonian is only 8 seconds ahead of the Mini JCW WRC by Pierre Campana. Frédéric Comte (Citroën C4 WRC) also performed well since he occupied 5th place, 11??5 behind Bastiais, ahead of the Peugeot 207 S2000 by Bryan Bouffier from 11??8. Eric Brunson (Subaru Impreza) continues to get closer to the French Rally Championship title. Although he is 11??8 behind the Peugeot driver, he is 41??8 behind his rival Pierre Roché (307 WRC).

The crews will set out again to compete in two special stages (Vidauban and Collobrières) which will offer 55,3km timed.
