Towards a redesigned route in the Cévennes

If the 62nd Critérium des Cévennes, counting for the French Asphalt Rally Championship, should take place from October 29 to 31, the event will be contested on a revised course, after the violent bad weather which affected the region ago about two weeks.

“The unfortunate “Cévennes episode” of September 19/20 deeply damaged a region to which the Critérium des Cévennes has devoted its deep attachment for more than 60 years, specifies the organization on his Facebook page.

Beyond the damage suffered by its population, including the organizers of the rally declare their full solidarity, the damage affecting the road network has led Asa Hérault to fundamentally rework the route and the timing of this edition.

Carried out in a necessarily very short period of time, this redistribution was only made possible with the full collaboration of public services and the unwavering support of the municipalities concerned. »

The detailed route for Friday has already been communicated with a loop of three SS to be covered twice: “St-Martial/Ardaillers” (15,9 km), “Col du Minier” (14,0 km) and “Alzon Village/Vissec/Blandas” (15,2 km). We will have to wait until tomorrow to find out the details of Saturday's specials.

Please note that the start will not be given from the Place de la Comédie, but from the Grammont site.

Before the Cévennes, the French Asphalt Rally Championship will travel to Antibes in around ten days for the fourth of the six rounds planned for the 2020 calendar.
