Towards a final truncated stage at Le Touquet

Without much surprise given the health restrictions in force in France, the Rally du Touquet – Pas de Calais, opening of French Rally Championship 2021, will undergo course changes.

In an interview on the Rallye du Touquet Facebook page, Jean-Marc Roger, head of the organization of the event, confirmed the expected changes.

“We set out on a classic Touquet with a departure on Friday noon with a complete night loop and a return around 22 p.m., 23 p.m., which is not possible since we are in a curfew period. »

Thus, the day of Friday will remain identical in terms of the ES with a start now scheduled around 6 a.m., the second day of Saturday will include only one loop, which will end at the beginning of the afternoon for a total of just under 170 km of times.

Another necessity, the rally will be contested behind closed doors, as was the Monte-Carlo Rally last January in WRC. The field, however, continues to strengthen since in this interview, Stéphane Lefebvre confirmed his commitment to an Opel Corsa Rally4, and will be co-driven by Gilles de Turckheim.
