This is the end of a beautiful and long adventure between Yoann Bonato and CHL Sport Auto. The Ardèche team formalized the departure of the five-time French rally champion on Friday evening, through a video retracing the nine years of collaboration between the two parties. Nine years filled with success, with no less than 17 titles won in total by Yoann Bonato, and 37 victories in 108 rallies contested.

This separation had been expected for a few days: during the Monte-Carlo, several consistent pieces of information led to the conclusion that Yoann Bonato would no longer ride for CHL in 2024. Met during the event, where he officiated as usher for Yohan Rossel, the multiple champion of France did not want to dwell too much on the subject. The Deux Alpes driver told us that he was looking for solutions to continue driving the Citroën C3 Rally2, while CHL will turn to Hyundai i20 N Rally2 in WRC2, with Emil Lindholm and potentially Teemu Suninen.

Since Monte-Carlo, Yoann Bonato has found a new structure – or founded his own structure? – which would allow him to continue the adventure in C3 Rally2 in 2024. The announcement of his program and his new team is expected in the coming days.
