The two crews supported by the FFSA as part of its feminization plan, Sarah Rumeau/Julie Amblard and Cindy Gudet/Cécile Marie, went through difficult conditions to score their first points of the season.

First special and first scratch time of the season for Sarah Rumeau. Within an experienced field that she was discovering and in a category masterfully managed by Opel, the double French women's champion claimed the best time of SS1 in the rain and storm at the wheel of the Opel Corsa Rally Electric. A remarkable performance from the e11 crew which allowed them to negotiate the start of day 2 at the head of the general standings, in a fight with the Frenchman Terence Callea, himself a former winner Rally Young FFSA. Always in the game, Sarah and her co-driver Julie Amblard ensured a good pace throughout the two days, avoiding pitfalls to return to France with a good 5th place.

Sarah Rumeau: “SS1 went in the best possible way with the scratch and the lead of the rally at the end of the first day. The next day we lacked experience with this type of car in rough conditions. It's a different technique from thermal but we understood it and we will work to improve this point on the next rally. Whatever happened with Julie, who once again did remarkable work throughout the weekend, we are delighted with this start. The championship is long and it's very positive. »

For their first international rally, Cindy Gudet and Cécile Marie gained experience in the same precarious conditions. A weekend full of lessons for the five-time French mountain champion, usually more accustomed to the grip of her Revolt prototype than to the mud of the German specials.

Cindy Gudet: “For a first rally, the conditions were difficult. But the positive point is that we were able to ride with a lot of changing conditions in terms of grip and the evolution of the roads. The terrain was complicated but we gained a lot of experience from this rally, which gives us areas for improvement for the future. The goal is to work on what we learned this weekend with Cécile. We are going to perfect all of this to gradually make progress. »

The two crews will meet on June 2 and 3 in Switzerland for the Chablais rally.
