92 entered the 2018 Tour de Corse, unheard of in three years

For its 61st edition, the Tour de Corse (from April 5 to 8) is full of crews. THE " Rally des 10 Virages" will host a whopping 000 cars, divided into five different categories. More than half of the participants come from France (92), including 54 Corsican crews. “We record, with 92 crews, the largest number of entries of the season and even for three years in the World Rally Championship (WRC), enthuses Dominique Serieys, Director of the event. It is a guarantee of quality for the organization and obvious testimony to the legendary enthusiasm aroused by the Tour de Corse. »

As expected, the WRC elite will be joined by Sébastien Loeb et daniel helena (Citroën), which will wear the number 11 as in the Mexico Rally. However, Citroën Racing will only enter two C3s in Corsica; point of Craig Breen (2nd in Sweden) or Mads Ostberg announced. 11 is also the number of 2018 WRCs lined up at the start, notably for Bryan Bouffier who will make his return with M-Sport Ford after his participation in Monte-Carlo.

12 crews confirmed their commitment in WRC2, among whom we find several French talents: Yoann bonato et Stéphane Lefebvre will debut the Citroën C3 R5 globally, while Pierre Louis Loubet will be present on a Hyundai i20 R5 from the BRC Racing Team. The South Korean car will also be the weapon of Nicholas Ciamin within his personal structure.

In addition to WRC3 (15 cars including 14 in Junior WRC), the RGT will have one of the richest fields of the year with three Porsche 997 GT3 Cup as well as four Abarth 124 Rallyes. Note the inscription of the former pilot ofEndurance (ten starts at 24 Hours of Le Mans) and Paris-Dakar Philippe Gache on the Italian convertible.

Among the curiosities of the entry list, we can note a single all-female crew (14 female co-drivers despite everything): Laura Salini and Myriam Peretti aboard the Citroën Saxo VTS No. 119. Finally, a New Zealand duo will not hesitate to travel, according to the organizers, 18 km to take part in one of the two all-Asphalt rounds of the WRC.

The complete list is available here.
