Adamo: “Our objectives remain the same” in 2019

A week after the ouster of Michel Nandan in favor of Andrea Adamo at the head of the program in the World Rally Championship (WRC), Hyundai affiche clairement ses ambitions pour la saison 2019. Ce sera le titre Pilotes et Constructeurs, et rien d’autre.

“Our objectives remain the same as in previous years, confirms the new Team Principal, that is, to fight for both crowns. This is crucial for Hyundai and our N brand (the performance branch of the Asian manufacturer. Editor’s note). »

The WRC is an extremely competitive championship and the other teams will approach the new campaign with the same mindset as us. We must ensure that we give the best of ourselves, in each event”, warns the Italian. Hyundai will be able to rely on talent and the expertise of Sébastien Loeb, which will compete in six rounds starting with Monte-Carlo (January 24-27).

Hyundai remains on several consecutive failures. Since their official return in 2014, the South Korean brand has still finished three times vice-champion of the Manufacturers, while Thierry Neuville obtained the runner-up trophy continuously between 2016 and 2018.
