Adrien Fourmaux: “More positive points than expected”

It was his first chance at the highest level of the World Rally Championship WRC et Adrien fourmaux clearly didn't let it pass.

5th of Rally from Croatia, on an asphalt surface that he likes, the protégé of M-Sport Ford responded and largely fulfilled its part of the contract. Reliable but also efficient with two second best times, and despite an excursion into a ditch on Sunday, the Frenchman went beyond the expectations of Malcolm Wilson and Richard Millener.

“When you think about what Adrien achieved this weekend, it's really impressive, specifies the latter. Four years ago, he had not yet driven a rally car, and now he fights, and on some stages overtakes, the drivers he watched growing up.

We saw Adrien's potential early on, but I think he even exceeded his own expectations this weekend. He and Renaud work so well together and there is an awareness about everything they do.

They know when to attack and where to be more cautious. Even when they made a mistake this morning, there was no panic or stress. They left and got back into the swing of things.

It's a very impressive start, and you can definitely see a resemblance to Ogier in the way he behaves. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he progresses with more time in the car. »

“I am so happy with our weekend and the only disappointment is that the rally is now over, comments for his part Fourmaux. It was a big challenge on the Croatian roads but I enjoyed every kilometer, and I had a lot of fun driving this car on these stages.

We showed good speed throughout the weekend and honestly there were more positives than we expected. We improved our pace a lot and I achieved all my goals and more. »

Let's hope to see the Frenchman again soon at the wheel of the Ford Fiesta WRC, he who largely dominated his teammate Gus Greensmith. The answer lies in the hands of M-Sport Ford.
