Alain Penasse will leave Hyundai

Integrated into the program Hyundai since 2013, Alain Peñasse played a major role in the Korean brand's arrival at the top of the World Rally Championship WRC, with the two manufacturers' world titles acquired in 2019 and 2020.
A relationship which will not, however, be extended beyond the Rally of Estonia in mid-July, as confirmed by Hyundai on the sidelines of the Kenya Safari Rally.
“We can confirm that Team Manager Alain Penasse will leave Hyundai Motorsport after Rally Estonia in July, indicates the firm in a press release.
It was decided between Hyundai Motorsport and Alain Penasse that the subcontracting contract would not be renewed and we took the opportunity to restructure our team with a smooth handover until the Estonian Rally.
We would like to thank Alain for his major contribution to the success of the team and for his work over the years. He played an important role in building and managing the team from the start of our WRC journey. »
The name of Alain Penasse's replacement has not yet been revealed. However, we will find the Belgian involved in the WRC during the Ypres Rally in August, as president of the Superstage Club, organizer of the event.
