Andrea Adamo leaves Hyundai Motorsport by mutual agreement with immediate effect. The news was made official via a press release published on the South Korean manufacturer's social networks. The team mentions a departure “for personal reasons”. For the moment, we do not yet know the identity of his long-term successor but Scott Noh, the current president, will take over in the interim. With the Italian leader, Hyundai Motorsport won two Manufacturers' titles in WRC during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Also at the head of the group's management in WTCR, he witnessed the coronation of Gabriele Tarquini in 2018 and that of Norbert Michelisz the following year.
“After six years at Hyundai Motorsport, we have mutually decided that I resign from my position as team principal, said Andrea Adamo. It's time for me to reflect on a period in my career that has continued to be successful, a period full of highlights, happy memories and titles. I am proud of what we have achieved, and of our titles acquired in WTCR and WRC. I wish the organization good luck for its future.”
“I would like to thank Andre Adamo for his contribution over six years which allowed us to win important titles in WRC and WTCR, comments Scott Noh. We can look back on some very positive times together and I sincerely wish him the best for the future. Our operations will continue as planned in preparation for the 2022 season, which will begin at Monte-Carlo next month ».
