Andrea Crugnola wins the 2019 Monza Rally Show

Accustomed to the Italian rally scene, Andrea Crugnola (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) did not miss the opportunity this weekend to win the Monza Rally Show, an event organized within the Lombardy Autodrome.

But the Autodromo 2 course would prove decisive, since, victim of engine problems, Sordo let Crugnola take the lead in the standings before the final two special stages this Sunday.

Two sections where Crugnola confirmed his first place, notably in the long Roccolo 2 ES (20 km), Sordo failing at 11″5 in the end. Andrea Nucita (Hyundai i20 R5) completes the final podium at 14″9.

Marco Bonanomi (Skoda Fabia R5), Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5) and Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai i20 R5) complete the top 6 at 18″3, 25″1 and 28″9.

Among the drivers registered for this 2019 edition, note the 12th place of Raffaele Marciello (Citroën C3 R5), recent winner of the FIA GT World Cup with Mercedes-AMG and GruppeM, or the 17th position of Niclas Grönholm (Skoda Fabia R5), GRX driver in World RX.
