Andreas Mikkelsen wins in Sweden

The weather conditions encountered today during the shakedown with roads more typical of "dirt" than rally on snow did not give cause for optimism. But the snow finally returned this evening during the first special of this 2014 Swedish Rally, a Super-Special held in Karlstad.

On a track where the crews competed two by two, it was Andreas Mikkelsen who set the best time in 1'33″4. He is ahead of the reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier who largely dominated his rival Robert Kubica on this ES. The Pole leaves 4″2 on the Polo of the Frenchman who declared that he “It was important to get off to a good start. I drove well, but tomorrow is much more important. » Ott Tänak places the first Ford Fiesta RS in third position, 2″2 behind Mikkelsen. The Citroën drivers are a little further away with Ostberg 8th and Meeke 10th.

Tomorrow, the first ES of the day will begin at 10:54 a.m. on the 7,03 km of Torsby 1. The special feature of the day will consist of a passage to Norway for four of the six timed sectors of the day.
