Andreas Mikkelsen targets Ypres and Monza

Without an official steering wheel this year to play the leading roles in WRC, Andreas Mikkelsen was entrusted with the development of Pirelli tires with a view to returning as the sole manufacturer of the manufacturer's world championship for 2021.

The Norwegian driver had thus completed several sessions at the wheel of a Citroën C3 WRC operated by the Saintéloc Racing team from Saint-Etienne, before taking part in the shakedown session of the Rally from Italy-Sardinia earlier in the month.

The question then arose as to whether the former Volkswagen driver could compete in a full event with the Citroën before the end of the year, which would seem to be in the pipeline for the rally planned at Monza at the end of the season (December 4-6). ).

« Doing Monza with Pirelli is something we talk about, specifies Mikkelsen on the WRC website. It would make sense, it's Pirelli's home rally. It could be fantastic to take this car and these tires to the final round of this year's WRC. »

Before that, Mikkelsen could also take part in the Ypres round in Belgium (November 20-22), aboard a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, a car for which he also carried out part of the development runs.
