Armindo Araujo proud to represent Mini

BMW having ended the contract linking Mini to Prodrive, the German manufacturer relied on the WRC Team Mini Portugal to validate the final approval of the Mini JCW WRC by competing in the entirety of the 2012 season. Armindo Araujo and Paulo Nobre now find themselves in the spotlight, which is not to displease the Portuguese who will soon be competing in his national test (March 29 - April 1) which will follow the Rally from Mexico (March 8 to 11). If the pressure is higher, he is delighted with the turn of events and looks forward to the planned developments on the car.

“It’s a great feeling”, comments Armindo Araujo. “I’m really proud to represent Mini and my country. This is an exciting opportunity and I will give my all to this challenge. I really like Mexico, the conditions are not very different from those encountered in Portugal. We are 100% focused on giving our best performance. There should be a new evolution ready for Portugal and it will be interesting to see what the new cars will offer. The 2011 edition of the Rally Portugal was my first WRC event and I now drive for WRC Team Mini Portugal. This could well be our biggest test of the season. Perhaps the eyes are more on me today, but they are welcome. I am a lucky man and I have the chance to live my dream. »
