Bouffier: “Above all, we want to have fun”

Bryan Bouffier could well slip into the role of spoilsport among the regular drivers of the World Rally Championship (WRC). The Frenchman, registered exceptionally in the third Ford Fiesta of the M-Sport Ford WRT team on the Monte-Carlo and the Tour de Corse completed a day of testing in the south-east of the country last week.

But for the winner of the 2011 edition (on a Peugeot 207 S2000 in IRC), time does not pass quickly enough. “Since I found out that I will be driving the Fiesta WRC, I can't wait to be at the start! It's one of my favorite events, and to be able to participate in it with a latest generation car, moreover the world champion vehicle, is a dream come true. »

Assisted by Jérome Degout, Bryan Bouffier does not set any particular objective, he who had worried Sébastien Ogier in 2014, at the time in a private Fiesta. “I feel at home here. Above all, we want to have fun. We will start with peace of mind and if we can help the team by scoring some good points in the Manufacturers' standings, that would be great. »

“I have solid experience of Monte Carlo which could prove useful when it comes to “reading” the track and adapting the pace to the road conditions, but ce rally is never simple. It is even one of the most complicated events of the year. To finish in a good place, it is necessary to drive intelligently, choosing the appropriate tires and keeping a good balance between attack and caution. »
