Calendar and regulation changes validated by the FIA for 2019

The calendar has not undergone any changes compared to the first version published last fall. The Chile Rally makes its appearance between trips to Argentina and Portugal, while the Tour de Corse keeps its place at the beginning of spring (week of March 31).

On the regulations side, the changes relate to the category WRC 2, which will be separated into two classifications. WRC 2 Pro will be reserved for official teams, such as Skoda Motorsport (reigning champion), each of which will be able to enter a maximum of two cars.

The Drivers, Co-Drivers and Manufacturers titles will be awarded in WRC 2 Pro. The eight best results from each crew will be counted towards the Drivers and Co-Drivers classification, while the best placed car from each team will score points for the Manufacturers.

The classic WRC 2, as it existed in 2018, will continue to exist only through private structures. There will be no minimum number of rallies to complete to be included in the general classification, although the six best results (out of seven events) will count towards the title.

mechanics are offered 10 extra minutes to repair cars during Service between stages, bringing the total to 40 minutes of repairs.
