Camilli: “We have to stay positive”

“The stone damaged the steering and we couldn't go any further. The damage was not significant but we were not able to repair it”, explained the Frenchman. “That’s how it is, we have to stay positive. It's not the start to the season I was hoping for, but experience is very important at this level in rallying. I know it's very hard to finish an event without it and we have to keep trying. It wasn't a big mistake, Jari-Matti hit the same stone, and my confidence remains high. I know things will get better. »

Malcolm Wilson can only regret this new disappointment. “He paid a high price and lost valuable experience in the special stages on the day's programme. The positive thing is that he will be back tomorrow where we will aim to achieve the record of 200 consecutive points finishes for Ford”, added the director of M-Sport who sees Mads Ostberg occupying fourth place following the abandonment of Andreas Mikkelsen.
