These French people who shone in 2015

Single seat, 24 Hours of Le Mans, stamina, rally, GT, tourism, rally-raid? Once again, French drivers shone in 2015, winning new titles in all motorsport disciplines.

First among them, Sébastien Ogier. The Volkswagen driver confirmed his control over the rally world by winning a third world title, the most difficult according to the Gapençais. Other rally winners, Quentin Gilbert with the Junior titles and WRC-3, and Matthieu baumel, WRC-2 champion as co-driver of Nasser Al-Attiyah in addition to his victory obtained in the Dakar with the Qatari.

Si en F1, Romain Grosjean concluded his Lotus adventure with a podium at Spa in Belgium, before joining Haas F1 Team in 2016, succession seems to be on the horizon with Esteban Ocon. The Norman won the GP3 Series title at the end of a campaign marked by flawless consistency. This is the second coronation of hope hatched by Mercedes after his 2014 crown in the European Championship F3.

Endurance did not fail to delight the French pilots. Julien Canal, titled in LM P2 or Nicolas lapierre winner at Le Mans in the same category, shone throughout the year on the stage of WEC.

The French teams have also shown their advantage this season. Formula e for e.dams-Renault, GP2 and GP3 for ART Grand Prix (a Grand Slam with the two Drivers' titles for Stoffel Vandoorne and Esteban Ocon), WTCC for Citroën? the French teams confirmed their know-how and their ability to win. They will be accompanied next year by Renault, which by formalizing its return to F1, hopes to begin a new victorious chapter in its history.
