Chris Ingram now aims for WRC

Chris Ingram having won the title in ERC this year, he is now aiming for the next level by starting a career at world level. The Briton would like to set up a program in WRC with co-driver Ross Whittock and his current team Toksport.

“Now is the right time to attack the WRC. This is clearly the next step, said the ERC champion on wrc.com. This title is a superb platform to launch yourself globally. It has always been difficult to find an opportunity without having enough funding, but I am working very hard and we are ready with the team to finalize the operation. We are enjoying a lot of interest now that we have won the title and that could interest some sponsors. This would be our best chance of success. »

Although his program would probably focus on WRC 3, Chris Ingram is already impatient to get back behind the wheel of an R5 car like the Skoda Fabia which he has been racing for two years.

“We considered all the options, but my preferred choice would be to continue racing on an R5 and stay with Toksport who have supported me so much, added Chris Ingram. We will have a good chance of competing in WRC 3 next year, but it could be a risk to return to 2-wheel drive. »

Chris Ingram has two starts in WRC 2 to date with the Rally of Türkiye and the Wales Rally GB contested last year in his Skoda.
