Citroën has achieved its objectives in Germany

For his third start in WRC, Andreas Mikkelsen impressed once again by finishing second behind Ott Tänak. In addition, Craig Been was able to bring his C3 into the top 5, fulfilling the objectives set by Yves Matton despite the retirement of Kris Meeke.

“Before the start, I asked the pilots to find a level of attack allowing them to join the fight at the front, explains the director of Citroën Racing. A certain risk-taking was made necessary by the weather forecasts and our unfavorable starting orders for the first stage. Ultimately, we were aiming for a podium and a top 5 with a second car. On arrival, the result is completely in line with our expectations. »

With the transfer season opening in the WRC, many are wondering about the strategy that the rafter brand will adopt between a messy Kris Meeke and the improbable possibility of a return of Sébastien Loeb after his trials for the French team.

“It’s no secret: we are entering a period of high activity on the transfer market. As with the development of the car, the priority is to prepare for 2018. As the WRC calendar takes a break, we will take advantage of the month of September to establish our strategy. To do this, we speak with all the drivers who could help us achieve our goals. For the moment, there is nothing formal. »
