Citroën: Titles in sight at home

Last year, Sébastien Loeb had to abandon prematurely during the Rally of France, leaving the victory to his compatriot Sébastien Ogier. With 219 points on the clock, the Alsatian almost has the title in his pocket, but the flavor of this ninth coronation could be even better if he were to win it at home, like in 2010.

« Just like the public who were there to support me, I was disappointed to give up last year, but this kind of hazard is also part of the race. I feel I have a sort of revenge to take, explains Loeb. This year we can seal the fate of both championships. Among the drivers, only Mikko and I can win the title. Obviously I would prefer it to be me? and I'm going to work on it. The calculations are not very complicated to do, since I will be crowned if I beat my teammate next weekend. Like the other rounds, this event has specificities which make it complex. Even with the artificial chicanes that sometimes punctuate the course, the stages are among the fastest we have ever done. Constant changes in surface make asphalt difficult to read. and the work of the openers is essential as the road gets extremely dirty between the two passages. Even more so if it rains? »

To win the manufacturers' championship, Citroën Racing will have to maintain an 86-point lead over Ford at the end of the Alsace Rally. It currently has 111.
