Citroën is doing well in Corsica

Sébastien Ogier saved his weekend at the Tour de Corse. Behind the wheel of a C3 WRC Unable to score a single scratch, the six-time WRC champion secured a second place by taking advantage of his opponents' worries.

“It’s a positive result with 19 points collected. We must admit that our performance was disappointing this weekend. We never had the speed to fight at the front and we still have work to do.", confirms the Gapençais.

Citroën drivers mainly complained about the front end and strong understeer on the Chevron mount.

“We used this rally like a big test session even if we didn't have the feeling of really progressing. We still have a little more perspective before the next asphalt round (at the German Rally)”, specifies the Frenchman who is two points behind the new leader of the championship Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) winner on the Isle of Beauty.

“This 2nd place is a little unexpected after our performances over the weekend, admits Citroën Racing director Pierre Budar. We made no secret that we intended to fight for victory, but our pace did not allow us to do so from the first stage. We still have a lot of work to do to get back up to speed. Our competitors were more brilliant than us, but our drivers made the most of what they had. We also think of Evans who would have deserved this victory. »

Esapekka Lappi was further back and could only secure a 7th place, two minutes behind the winner.
