Citroën wants to finalize its duo before thinking about doing something with Loeb

Pierre Budar, boss of Citroën Racing, who was able to bring back Sébastien Ogier from 2019, does not want to comment on the possibility of seeing Sébastien again Loeb in the Citroën C3 WRC in 2019.

This season, the nine-time world rally champion, mainly entered in World RX with Peugeot Sport, took part in the Mexican and French events, before turning this month to the Spanish round in Catalonia.

“For us it could be the icing on the cake if we can do something with him, says Budar on the WRC website. We will first finalize our drivers and our program for the team, then we will see if we can do anything later.

Our line-up is not yet finalized. We already have to confirm that the second car is at the best level and then we will see. If we have the opportunity to have a third car we will do everything for it, but the priority is to make sure we have two very good cars capable of fighting. »

Citroën Racing had placed its trust in Kris Meeke this year before the latter was fired during the championship. Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg will compete this weekend with the chevron brand on the Welsh roads of Wales Rally GB.
