Citroën wants to take revenge in Argentina

Citroën Racing is aiming for an 11th success in 13 starts at Rally from Argentina where it will enter two C3 WRC for Kris Meeke and Craig Breen.

The Briton, who lost victory at the Tour de Corse following the breakage of a connection in the lubrication circuit, intends to turn the page this week on the 357,59km timed spread over the 18 special stages of an event where he does not count only two participations but with a podium and a victory in 2015 in a DS 3 WRC.

“I only have good memories in Argentina, assured Kris Meeke. This rally is very special in terms of the atmosphere and the enthusiasm, not to say madness, of the public. As soon as you set foot on Argentinian soil, you feel that people love motorsport. Even though I didn't take part in the event last year, I have every reason to be confident. Between my victory in Mexico, my start to the Tour de Corse and the work done this week in testing, I feel good before this rally. However, I remain aware of the difficulties of this ordeal, which always brings its share of uncertainty. »

Craig Breen will have more modest ambitions since he will discover the event contested on gravel, a first for him at the wheel of the C3 WRC.

“Craig Breen will have a tougher task. For his discovery of the event, it is possible that it will be difficult for him to play in the leading pack. At the same time, its rapid progression curve could result in a pleasant surprise”, warned Yves Matton, director of Citroën Racing.
