Dani Sordo to compete in seven rallies with Hyundai in 2020

In the margins of Rally from Turkey, Andrea Adamo, directeur de Hyundai Motorsport, told us that the extension of Dani sordo was on track for 2020.

Statements followed almost immediately by facts, since the Korean brand made it official this Wednesday that the Spaniard will compete in seven rallies out of fourteen on the program next year in the i20.

Winner in Sardinia this year, the former Citroën driver was consistent in collecting points for the Manufacturers' ranking, only failing once outside the top 10 (Portugal), and scoring 72 points in 2019.

“Dani has shown this season that he remains one of the most versatile and competitive drivers in the world. WRC, specifies Adamo. His victory in Sardinia was an exceptional performance, but he showed pace and potential on most of the rallies contested.

For this reason, it was a logical decision for him to continue with our team for another year – his seventh consecutive season as a Hyundai Motorsport driver. »

Sordo should therefore find Thierry Neuville and Sébastien Loeb, Andrea Adamo having also confirmed that the Frenchman will head to a six-race program in 2020.

“I'm very happy and comfortable with the team, but I'm as competitive as ever, believes Sordo. The Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC is a capable car on all surfaces and I have had good pace this year, although the results have not always been good.

We have a lot of ambition and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to take part in seven rallies in 2020.” Sordo will still be co-driven by Carlos del Barrio.
