Twenty-two times second in WRC. A statistic that has long made Dani Sordo a “Poulidor” of the rally, because the current pilot Hyundai was only able to achieve one success in the World Championship, last year in Germany with Citroën. An assessment largely due to the presence of the ogre Sébastien Loeb on the path of the Spaniard's career.
“At Citroën with Loeb, I couldn’t do anything, admits the former driver who worked for Mini. I was always second. That said, this was also the case for everyone else. Loeb was almost unbeatable. With his experience and speed, he was the natural leader of the team. I am not the only one to have suffered his domination. There have been Sainz, McRae, Duval. Only Ogier, who is very fast, managed to measure up to him. But it’s a second Loeb! »
For next year, Dani Sordo is awaiting decisions from his current employer, but remains confident. “It’s not me who decides whether or not to stay at Hyundai in 2015. [?] I want to continue the rally. Don't worry, I'll be there in 2015. I have solutions. »
