Dani Sordo: “Aim for victory” in Sardinia

It has been known to perform well on asphalt for many years, but its performance on gravel nonetheless remained first-rate. But we had to wait until 2019 to see Dani sordo finally triumph on earth, on the occasion of Rally from Italy-Sardinia.

With an interesting starting position, the Spaniard was able to avoid the traps of the Sardinian course to achieve his first victory on this surface and bring important points for Hyundai Motorsport with a view to winning the world Manufacturers' title.

Confirmed alongside the two holders Ott Tänak et Thierry Neuville for the island round in a week, Dani Sordo intends to play his card to the fullest once again.

“The stages are normally quite slippery on the first pass because there is a lot of gravel on the surface, recalls the former Citroën and Mini driver. This can benefit crews starting further down the starting order.

The second pass is much more aggressive on the tires, providing higher levels of grip. I tested the car recently and had a good feeling, so the goal is victory. »

Hyundai, which still aims to defend its Manufacturers' title against Toyota, will be able to count on the last three winners in Sardinia, since Tänak won in 2017 with the Team's Ford Fiesta M-Sport, when Neuville and Sordo have imitated it these last two seasons with the i20.
