Dani Sordo first leader in Sweden

Dani Sordo wants to win his first rally this season and, in Sweden, the Spanish driver is already very fast. Winner of the Arctic Rally a fortnight ago, Dani Sordo trained near the Arctic Circle, before getting the best start in Sweden. During the Karlstad super special, the Spanish driver was the fastest on the short icy track (1,90 km) to take the lead in the general classification. The Citroën driver was ahead Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4) by 2??0, Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus) by 2??1, Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4) by 2??3 and Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus) by 2??6.

Petter Solberg, at the wheel of his Citroën C4, has not started this season in the best way. Starting a spin, the Norwegian, world champion in 2003, lost more than 18?? on Dani Sordo. Another pilot armed with a C4 WRC, Kimi Räikkönen made his debut as a Citroën Junior Team driver. The Finn came out honorably, finishing 5?1 behind Dani Sordo, setting the eighth fastest time.

On Friday, the drivers will compete in two loops of three special stages, for a total of 123 kilometers. At the end of the day, the Karlstad super special will be on the program again.
