Two events in New Zealand to prepare for 2021

This was to be one of the two big returns on the calendar WRC in 2020 with the Safari Rally. Unfortunately for the New Zealand , the coronavirus pandemic will have got the better of the ambitions of the organizers of the Kiwi round with the postponement of the return to 2021.

While waiting to see the WRCs again on the country's famous "gravel roads", the governing bodies of the Rally from New Zealand will continue preparations in the form of two rehearsals next November.

Two tests, the City of Auckland Rally and the Battle of Jack’s Ridge, will be contested on November 14 and 15, the first including the stages of Kaipara Hills, Puhoi, Riverhead Forest and Jack’s Ridge.

The Battle of Jack's Ridge will be a sprint rally run only on the Jack's Ridge course, built specifically over a 6,2 km stretch and which should have served as a Power Stage for the Rally New Zealand.

“We are taking this opportunity to showcase Jack’s Ridge and the ES around Auckland to show our preparation to host the WRC in 2021, comments Peter Johnston, president of the rally. The FIA and the WRC promoter recognize that we have invested significantly in the return of Rally New Zealand.

We believe that when fans get a chance to experience Jack's Ridge, they will get a sense of the excitement and scale around this hosting of the World Rally Championship which we hope will be included in the 2021 calendar .”
