Elfyn Evans, recovered from his back injury, will return after an absence of three WRC rallies.

Elfyn Evans returns to M-Sport Ford for Wales Rally GB

Sometimes it’s the less spectacular injuries that can be the most painful. Affected in the back when receiving a bump during the Rally from Estonia in July, Elfyn Evans had to miss three rounds of the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Fortunately, the Welshman will be able to return to his Ford Fiesta during “his” event, the Wales Rally GB (October 3-6). His co-driver will be the faithful Scott Martin, after withdrawing from Finland, Germany and Turkey.

 

“Elfyn and Scott have had a very consistent start to the season, rappelle Richard Millener, le Team principal d’M-Sport Ford. We hope they can continue at the same level of performance. We are focused on enabling Elfyn and Teemu (Suninen) to fight for fourth place in the Drivers' championship. »

In this fight, five drivers are only separated by 10 points! » Elfyn Evans sits sixth with 78 points ahead of Rally Turkey (September 12-15).

Wales Rally GB will be an opportunity for Elfyn Evans to find the field which saw him sign his first World Cup victory in 2017. . “There's something special about riding at home, and it's the event I look forward to the most every year, explains the 30-year-old pilot.
