Elfyn Evans: “We have work to do”

Above the rest this Friday, Sébastien Ogier does not however appear at the top of the general after this second day of Rally Monte Carlo. Due to a puncture and a spin in SS6, the Frenchman was forced to hand over control to Elfyn Evans, aware that luck smiled on him this Friday.

« I don't have all the feeling and confidence to attack when the conditions are so extreme and slippery, recognizes the leader of the event. Sébastien had a fantastic day. He took a lot of risks and maybe I didn't take enough.

We know that there is a small advantage to being the first on the road, but to be honest it was not the sixteen seconds that Sébastien took back! He rode very well today and it was difficult to follow him. We have work to do. Tomorrow (SATURDAY), we have a big fight on our hands »

With a little more than seven seconds ahead of the reigning world champion, the Briton knows that he must raise the level if he wants to get his first Monte-Carlo, regardless of the conditions.

« In Monte Carlo, you have to be ready to wake up no matter the weather. Looks like there's a chance of snow tonight so it definitely won't be easy ».
