Officially absent from the world scene since 1999 and its last Manufacturers' world title, Toyota put an end to the little suspense that remained by making official his return from the 2017 season in the World Rally Championship. The Japanese brand has been running a Yaris for several months WRC in tests on different surfaces and the Frenchman Eric Camilli, appointed test pilot alongside his compatriot Stephane Sarrazin (also driver of the brand in WEC) and Finnish Sebastian Lindholm, was in action this weekend near the Alpes-Maritimes in the South-East of France.
The 27-year-old driver will compete in WRC-2 in a Ford Fiesta R5 this season in addition to his testing program with the Toyota Yaris. You can find our portrait of Eric Camilli in issue 1997 of AUTOhebdo, available in digital version.
