Eric Camilli confident before Germany

From the first rally of the season at Monte-Carlo last January, Eric Camilli no longer had the opportunity to evolve in a WRC on his favorite surface, asphalt. As well as Sébastien Ogier is looking forward to starting Rally Germany to end the a long period without victory, the pilot M-Sport espère beaucoup de cette manche d’outre-Rhin, qu’il aura l’avantage d’avoir déjà disputé.

« This is the rally I look forward to the most all year, specifies the Nice resident. It won't be easy, but I feel much more confident. I'm a bit at home on the asphalt, and I know this rally very well having raced there twice. »

If the Monte-Carlo Rally constituted a sort of baptism of fire for Malcolm Wilson's protégé, Eric Camilli now hopes to bring to bear his experience accumulated at the wheel of the Ford Fiesta RS throughout the start of the season. After a complicated start on gravel in Mexico, the Frenchman raised his level to sign several top performances in Portugal and Italy.

“The circumstances are completely different now. I was happy with my speed in Monte Carlo, but now I have more knowledge and a better understanding. So I hope it will be possible to do something next week. »

Legitimate hopes on this surface, but Eric Camilli does not lose sight of his main objective defined at the start of the season with the British structure. « It is always important for us to gain experience, but if we feel comfortable, we will attack hard. I hope we can build on the pace shown at the start of the asphalt season. That's really the goal. »

Fifth on the Portuguese tracks in the spring, the Frenchman hopes to achieve his best career result in the premier category in Germany, and thus get new momentum after his crash in Finland.
