Eric Camilli: “I sensed this potential”

Confirmé en fin d’année dernière pour disputer le Championnat du Monde des Rallyes 2016 sur une Ford Fiesta préparée par M-Sport, Eric Camilli voit sa carrière prendre un nouveau tournant. Après une saison 2015 partagée entre les essais avec Toyota Motorsport et un programme en WRC-2 on a Ford Fiesta R5 fielded by Team Oreca, the Nice native will focus entirely on the World Cup events this year, alongside Mads Ostberg, also recruited by Malcolm Wilson to drive the team's other Fiesta.

The former winner of the Rally Jeunes was able to take his new mount in hand during tests in the South of France. AUTOhebdo was present during these first runs to collect the Frenchman's impressions.

“What I did before obviously helped me adapt quickly. Whether with the Toyota Yaris WRC or even with the Fiesta R5. With the WRC version of the Fiesta, everything is better: the brakes, the handling, the responsiveness, the agility. In terms of sensations, it's stronger. There is the engine, but also the chassis. I sensed this great potential of the car…”
Camilli comments.
