Evans extends his lead, Ogier returns to the podium in Sweden
Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin (Toyota) semblent inarrêtables. Les Britanniques ont creusé l’écart lors des spéciales du samedi au Rally from Sweden. Even a lot of heat at the end of SS7 did not prevent them from achieving a scratch time!
Already very fast in Monte-Carlo, Elfyn Evans has dominated her subject since the launch of the winter event. The track conditions don't have much of the traditional walls of snow; the organizers have decided to cancel one of the two Sunday specials.
Behind, alone Ott Tänak (Hyundai) tente de garder le contact, avec difficulté (+17″2). La lutte pour les places d’honneur concerne ensuite le duo du Toyota Gazoo Racing, Kalle Rovanperä et Sébastien Ogier.
The young Finn (19 years old) and the Frenchman exchanged places twice in the morning. The six-time world champion finally regained the advantage by a short lead after the Torsby Sprint super special (+0″5).
In better shape than Friday, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) however suffered a setback in SS8. The Belgian has not (yet) managed to overtake Esapekka Lappi (Ford) to secure the points for fifth place.
In the R5 category, Finnish Jari Huttunen (Hyundai) replaced his compatriot Emil Lindholm (Skoda) in the lead. They are ahead of the leader of the WRC 2, Mads Ostberg (Citroën), who however increases his margin over Ole Christian Veiby (Hyundai).
The only Frenchman entered in WRC 2, Adrien fourmaux, was penalized by a broken shock absorber. He is only fifth ahead of his teammate Rhys Yates.
