Evans and Neuville, powerless against Ogier

Out of the game. No matter how hard they tried to stand up to him, Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville were unable to destabilize Sébastien Ogier. If he was able to lead this Monte-Carlo for one evening, the first city never felt able to seek victory against the Frenchman.

« This is a good result, he admitted at the end of the opening round of the season. But I never felt 100% in the car, as I would have liked to be. There were some good stages, but I couldn't be consistent. Maybe we didn't take enough risks ».

The second was simply very far from Sébastien Ogier. As the weekend progressed, he was dropped by the pilot Toyota ultimately contenting himself with securing his place on the podium.

« I am already delighted to be at the arrival of rally. We knew it would be a big challenge and I didn't know what to expect (...) These are important points for the team, even if it was not the ideal weekend for Hyundai ».

Elfyn Evans finished runner-up to Sébastien Ogier with a delay of 32”6. Thierry Neuville was separated by more than a minute from the winner.
