Evans maintains the advantage in Monte-Carlo

If Elfyn Evans (Toyota) lost its small lead against Sébastien Ogier on the La Bâtie-Neuve route, the Welshman was able to catch some air in the La Bréole special to conclude the second stage of the Rally Monte-Carlo with almost 5 seconds ahead of the six-time world champion who remains undefeated in this event since 2014.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) joins the fight for victory having come back to less than 2 seconds of the Frenchman. The Belgian was the most efficient in the second pass, winning the scratch on both courses.

Sébastien Loeb retained 4th position, but the nine-time world champion suffered a scare by spinning off in SS12. The Hyundai driver maintains the advantage over the Finns Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) and Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota). Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) continues his learning, falling around ten minutes behind the leader of the race.

Éric Camilli (Citroën C3 R5) leads the R5 group, occupying 8th place ahead of Mads Ostberg (Citroën C3 R5) who has taken the advantage over Nicolas Ciamin (Citroën C3 R5). Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) returned to the gates of the Top 10 in the general classification, 13 seconds behind the Frenchman.

The final stage of the Monte-Carlo Rally will be made up of 2 special stages covered twice for a total of 63,54km timed. The day will start at 8:17 a.m. with the 18,41km from La Bollène-Vésubie – Peïra Cava. The event remains to be followed live with our live text.
