Ford is hungry for victories

Ford shows up in Greece with high morale. A little disconcerted by their results since the start of the season and especially by Sébastien's successes Loeb, Malcolm Wilson's men seem to have regained color since Sardinia. It must be said that the double achieved by Latvala and Hirvonen combined with the fourth place of the world champion gives them the wildest hopes. Having scored 18 points in Sardinia, Ford is now back to 29 points behind Citroën in the Manufacturers' standings as we enter the second part of the season. Among the drivers, Mikko Hirvonen is Loeb's first opponent with 38 points against 55 for the Frenchman.

Like Jari-Matti Latvala who seems to have reached a milestone in Italy, the Ford team has learned from its mistakes and now wants to move up a gear. “ I want to fight for another victory in Greece », affirmed Latvala. “ But the most important thing is to start cautiously rather than attacking at all costs and watch the pace of others. Is this the smartest way to do it?, he added.

Hirvonen, for his part, will participate in his sixth Rally of the Acropolis. If he finished third in 2006 and 2008, he intends to repeat his performance or even improve it this season. “ Conditions will be quite similar to Sardinia, but more brittle “, he declared. “ There are a lot of new specials this year, it's as if it were a new rally. Usually, I behave well in new events, I hope it will be the same here. »
