Fergus Greensmith had disappeared from the radar a little. Since his last appearance in Central Europe in October 2023, the Englishman had communicated very little. Having finally announced its intention to carry out a 2e season with the Toksport team in the WRC2 world championship, Gus had not specified which rallies he was going to compete in. If the rest of his program is not yet known, he will be at the start of the Safari Rally in Kenya at the end of March (28 to 31) where he will notably meet Oliver Solberg, Nicolas Ciamin and Kajetan Kajetanowicz.

In order to reconnect with his automatisms and get back into the rhythm of the race with his Fabia RS Rally2, the 27-year-old Mancunian chose to participate in the Rally Tierras Altas de Lorca which marks the opening of the Spain Superchampionship, the major competition in Spain. If Greensmith will probably not encounter conditions as difficult as in Kenya, he will however face formidable adversity. All the contenders for the title are indeed present: Pepe Lopez (Hyundai), José Suarez (Fabia), Alejandro Cachon (Yaris) or Ivan Ares (Hyundai). Among the entrants there is also the Frenchman Matthieu Margaillan (Skoda RS).

Eight special stages and 108,46 km timed courses are on the program in the Lorca region west of Cartagena.
