Christmas comes earlier than expected for Grégoire Munster. The Luxembourger, who will celebrate his 24th birthday on December 24, has ensured his presence in WRC2 for the 2023 season with M-Sport Ford.

Sixième du WRC2 Junior en 2022 avec le Hyundai Customer Racing Junior, Grégoire Munster s’est notamment distingué en remportant la catégorie lors de la finale disputée au Rally from Japan, ahead of references such as WRC2 champion Emil Lindholm, Sami Pajari and Teemu Suninen.

“I recently visited M-Sport at Dovenby Hall to meet the team and the facilities and infrastructure are fantastic; the workshop and the new building are quite impressive, rejoiced Grégoire Munster. The test track was also very pleasant to drive, especially with the ice!

The plan for next year is to participate in a lot of events in Rally2, using my previous experience and experiencing some events for the first time. I have to adapt to the car and I want to perform well and get good results.

M-Sport is a real talent factory; if you look at Elfyn Evans, Ott Tänak, Thierry Neuville, they all come from M-Sport. I think it's the best place to develop as a driver, the team is pleasant to work with and the car is solid. We have a good season ahead of us, so the goal will be to maximize my work with the team to gain experience and develop as a driver. »

“I am looking forward to welcoming Grégoire to the team for the first time, said M-Sport Team Principal Richard Millener. It's always great to see new talent in our ranks and he has a strong track record that we hope to build on. Grégoire had a fantastic performance in Japan last month, and we hope he will do the same when he joins us at the Monte-Carlo (January 19-22). »
