WRC 2022 Guide – Will Elfyn Evans take over?
Should Evans logically be placed among the favorites?
As is often the case with Elfyn Evans, everything happened with a minimum of fuss. Without much illusion regarding the world champion title in Monza (November 19-21, 2021), he did not have too bad a experience of seeing his teammate grab an additional crown. On the other hand, he was less appreciative of not having won the rally against the Gapençais. The Welshman knew that it was not in Italy that he had lost the battle, but in the middle of the year, in Sardinia (2nd), then in Kenya (10th) where the gap had jumped. If Evans found himself runner-up for the second year in a row, it is no coincidence.
