We knew Hayden Paddon was committed to alternative propulsion methods. The New Zealander, former official pilot Hyundai Motorsport in WRC, has completed its approach by officially unveiling in recent hours a 100% electric version of a Hyundai Kona EV designed for racing.
Developed in partnership with STARD, the Manfred Stohl entity already responsible for Projekt E cars in rallycross, this car can develop almost 900 kW and 1 Nm of torque. The mass on the scale, including batteries, is displayed at approximately 100 kg.
Hayden Paddon's PRG structure, however, focused on making this car a car for rallying, particularly in terms of autonomy. In fact, the power should ultimately be comparable to that of a WRC according to Paddon.
So what do you think of our @HyundaiNZ EV Kona rally car we launched this morning? As you can see, this is just not another because, a lot of attention to detail has gone into it. From the aero design, chassis design, cockpit design and even the roof vent design. pic.twitter.com/QFyWlmfXw3

“We also made sure to give the car a touch of style and focused on futuristic yet practical designs throughout the car. PRG is here to make a statement for the future of our sport. » Paddon points out.
A demonstration is expected to take place next weekend at the Jacks Ridge event.
