Following Sébastien Loeb and Dani Sordo throughout the first day of Rally from Italy, which will take place in Sardinia, Mikko Hirvonen hopes to be able to control the start of the race. In the ideal scenario, the Ford driver would like to stay just behind his rivals for as long as possible to overtake them before the finish.
“If the weather remains dry, the starting order will be important,” admits Mikko. “The surface is covered with a layer of slippery earth. The first ones will clear the path for the following ones. I will be third on Friday, I think it?s a very good place. I wouldn't want to be the first on the track on Saturday. This could be a rally in which it will be better to attack from behind. »
Mikko Hirvonen has not won in the World Rally Championship since the Rally of Japan last November.
