Hirvonen: “The Fiesta will be up to the task”

Le Rally of the Acropolis is certainly one of the toughest on the calendar, both for machines and for men. Seventh round of the season, it also marks the halfway point of the season. Currently second in the general classification, Mikko Hirvonen and his co-driver Jarmo Lehtinen intend to shine there, and thus make up part of the gap separating them from the leaders Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena.

“Previously, all stages had a rough and abrasive surface,
explains Hirvonen. Today there are smooth sections, but there are many stones. And it's always hot there. If you're lucky, you can survive three days of driving hard. But there are many places where it is better to be careful and smart. Ford has always built strong, reliable cars, and after testing in Greece last month, I know the Fiesta RS WRC will be up to the task. »
