Hirvonen: “The challenge promises to be difficult”

Will Mikko Hirvonen manage to stand out against his new teammate Sébastien? Loeb au Rally of Sweden which will be contested from February 9 to 12? The Flying Finn in any case seems to have the ability since he won the last two editions of the Swedish round while the Alsatian does not seem to be particularly comfortable in this event. However, the former Ford driver faces a big unknown with his new car and believes that success may be more difficult to achieve. He still recognizes that his chances of victory exist and has already proven it today. by dominating the Finnskog Rally.

“It was very pleasant to find these conditions that I particularly like after the first tests of the DS3 WRC on the ice ", commented Mikko Hirvonen. “Unlike Monte-Carlo where the level of grip is constantly changing, the ice offers a constant level of grip. I was very satisfied with the result at the end of the session, I think we are ready! I think we have the car to win. But even if we are at the start of a rally which has been successful for us over the last four years (with Jarmo Lehtinen), the challenge promises to be difficult. We did a good job in testing but the Citroën DS3 WRC is still new to me. I can't predict what my confidence level will be in the stages, but yes, I think I have my chances. »
